We're a bit different at RNZ. We are committed to public interest stories, and we're very good at telling them in a way that engages people intelligently. We're searching for someone with sound editorial judgement unafraid to mix it with a bit of flair.
You will be committed to high-quality, impartial journalism, have a broad general knowledge and the skill and drive to help break and develop stories that resonate across New Zealand.
You'll love story-telling in its many forms, but be particularly adept with both the digital and spoken word, and have the experience and confidence to write and edit everything from breaking news to analysis.
You will need to be calm under pressure, energised by tight deadlines and able to combine accuracy, attention to detail and creativity to make www.rnz.co.nz the destination of choice for news junkies.
And, you'll need to have a sharp eye for errors and inconsistencies and be highly competent as a digital sub-editor.
This position will be based in Auckland.
We are also interested in hearing from experienced journalists who may be available on a casual basis to support our digital news and features team during periods of high demand.
