The successful applicant will be given full operational training across Vision Switching, Technical Directing, Media Operations and Audio Mixing: -

Media (Core Craft) -

• Be responsible for recording, ingest, copying, replaying and editing highlights from multiple sources within either live production or post-production environments.
• Cue and prepare video inserts including programs, promotions and commercials.
• Setup and operate equipment to record and playback footage.

Vision -

• Vision Switching and Technical Directing within a live production environment as rostered.
• Operate the Vision Mixer in accordance with NEP NZ and our client's requirements.
• Have a solid understanding of Vision Switching technology, workflows and services.

Audio –

• Proven knowledge of sound recording, mixing and post production.
• Operate the Audio Mixer, setup Microphones and other audio equipment.
• Have a good knowledge of audio equipment, sound technology and live production workflows.

General -

• Ensure that all technical standards are adhered to.
• Communicate well with technical and non-technical people.
• Maintain professional relationships with our clients, consistent with best industry standards.
• Act as a vital link in the production team, assisting directors and producers and be involved in all stages of the production process to ensure productions run smoothly.
• Work in close co-operation with the Operations Manager.
• Provide services that meet the needs and requirements of all NEP NZ's customers.
• Perform other duties that may from time to time be reasonably prescribed.

Requirements:

• Have a good knowledge of TV Production equipment, and live TV Production workflows.
• An understanding of different media formats, together with non-linear and linear editing.
• Ability to think creatively.
• Ability to translate client's requirements into practical solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure in a "live to air" environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively and reliable as part of the team.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, flexibility, common sense and problem-solving skills.
• A great team-oriented attitude and a dedication to quality.
• Flexibility with rostered shift work.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in live television production.
• Strong IT skills.

Additional skills in the following areas would be preferable:

• Knowledge of Vision Switching, and using Vision Switchers in live production environments.
• Knowledge of Sound Recording, Mixing and Post Production.
• Operating Audio Mixers and other Audio equipment.
• Have an understanding of Camera and Lighting technology.
