Assistant Video Editor
Full Time (40hrs per week)
Up to $45,000 per annum based on experience
About us:
Shotover Wedding Films is a Wedding Video Production Company based in Queenstown, NZ. We're looking for a creative, passionate and motivated individual to join our small but rapidly expanding team of 4. Based in Queenstown, we operate two businesses - Shotover Media and Shotover Wedding Films offering high quality, professional video content. The successful applicant will be required to edit projects for Shotover Wedding Films as a full time in house position.
Role:
This person will join as a Wedding Video Editor. We are looking for someone with a very pro active, hard working attitude and a strong desire to learn within the industry, grow with our company and become a long term team member. Full training will be given to the successful candidate but a background in and a passion for video editing is a must.
There will be a 3 month fully paid probationary / internship period to establish the right candidate for this role. This role will be office based at our production house in Queenstown reporting to our Wedding Producer and the 2 company directors. This is a fun, fast paced and professional environment where an ability to meet deadlines is a must. Our busy wedding season runs from September through til June but editing work will be full time on a year round basis.
Job Responsibilities:
- Editing of our wedding videos using Final Cut Pro X
- Editing and colour grading of footage from Sony, Panasonic and RED cameras
- Managing and organising video data and projects
- Working with our Production Manager to help with content for social media channels
- Assisting with production for Wedding Shoots (if needed)
- Assisting with projects for our parent company, Shotover Media (if needed)
Succesful applicants must have:
- NZ Residency or be able to legally work / commit to at least 12 months full time employment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends where required.
- Reside in the Queenstown region or be prepared to relocate to the Queenstown region.
- A full NZ driving license and access to their own transport.
- High level of spoken English and be comfortable holding conversations with a diverse range of clients.
Required Experience:
- Video editing experience at some level
- Good level of experience working with current professional editing software such as Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere, AVID, Sony Vegas
Preferred but not required experience:
- Good understanding of Final Cut Pro X
- Video production experience (operating DSLR/mirrorless/film cameras)
- Experience working with Adobe After Effects
- Experience editing footage from professional level video cameras such as Sony FS7 / RED cameras
- Experience shooting and/or editing weddings
- Experience with colour grading
- Basic understanding of other photo and video editing software such as the Adobe Suite
