The Client:

This innovative government agency is a large enterprise organisation going through radical change and innovation and harnessing technology to ensure success. They have established a highly agile development team and are looking for a Development Manager to take over the reigns and lead the teams to success.

Key Requirements:

• Experience managing 2-5 development teams 
• Must have Cloud Solutions experience - Google Cloud ideally but AWS or Azure also acceptable
• Worked in a Devops environment previously and able to run such a team - CI and CD experience
• Ideally have a background and experience with Java, React, React Native technologies
• Built Agile Teams and set up agile processes
• Appreciation of Security and Testing
• Knowledge of Product Management advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing team of 17 in a highly agile, start up feel team - innovation team largely independant of the legacy part of the wider organisation
• This role involves a relatively equal balance of recruitment, people management and architecture
• Managing high profile projects of both a software and hardware nature that have a public impact
• Integrate their new systems and tools with legacy systems (long term)
• Lead the set up of stricter agile processes for both this team and the legacy teams across the business

This is a contract role, initially 6 months in length and looking to extend further if all goes well. The client is based in the CBD, close to public transport links and ideally wants someone available ASAP, but will wait for the right candidate.
