Our client, Octane Systems has 20 years’ experience in the fuel industry, designing and developing an end-to-end ERP solution for customers in NZ, Australia & Canada. One of Octane’s major strengths is its ability to integrate with the vast array of petroleum specific solutions including fuel meters, POS applications, in-cab truck solutions, web based peripheral applications and other ERP products. With Octane’s robust ERP at the core, they offer their customers a complete package delivering an integrated offering that removes complexity and risk.
With the global growth in Octane Systems customer base, this new role has been established to further develop and support this complex integration and the related interactions with the ERP itself.
Reporting to the Software Development Manager as part of the larger software development team, you will be responsible for research into new integrated solutions, development and coding, data analysis, testing and support. You will methodically work through processes/systems with a logical mind-set to gain an understanding of how they work, and apply this understanding to the sourced data information. There is also an opportunity to understand and work within the core ERP in line with Octane’s philosophy of being a full service provider to its customers.
From time to time you may be required to provide project related on-site support; which will include some overseas travel.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A technical mind set and a natural inquisitiveness to learn how things work;
- Technical skills including: VB.Net; Database experience; data translation and import skills; interface with APIs exposure;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including sound English language skills
- An ability to quickly understand clients requirements and objectives and translate requirements into technical action points;
- Ideally some exposure to reporting (e.g. Crystal or similar); other programming languages electronics; and project planning skills

You may be from a retail data import background or have experience in the automation of data import/export/processes; data migration area.

This is a fulltime position and would include some planned travel both within New Zealand and overseas.
