About the role
The Electricity Engineers’ Association (EEA) is looking for a Business Analyst to join their small but highly effective team in Wellington. This is a key role within the business, providing support to the industry as well as the Principal Health and Safety Advisor and the Technical Advisor. In this role, you will be accountable for:
  • providing support to, and engaging with, the members of the EEA on their information needs
  • gathering and analysing data, statistics and information from multiple sources & turning them into reports that meet members needs and help drive policy change
  • design and run surveys to collect information
  • analyse,, coordinate, develop and deliver submissions
  • identify market trends and report on these
  • organise and manage projects
  • liaison and collaboration with Members, Government, Worksafe, and our Board.
  
About you
Your background will have a strong flavour of gathering data and performing analysis and reporting. You’ll also have experience in managing projects. Your other key strengths will include your communication skills, your ability to build strong relationships, and to muck in to get the job done. This role is very much member facing and we are looking for someone with:
  • a high level of competence in MS Office especially Excel
  • outstanding written and verbal skills including the development of surveys, reports and statistical analysis
  • familiarity with Health and Safety or technical analysis
  • strong relationship building skills and the ability to influence
  • the ability to package complex information into plain language
  • a track record of getting things done and strong self-management
  
Experience or understanding of the Engineering and/or Electricity sectors would be a plus but is not essential.

The Electricity Engineers’ Association of New Zealand (EEA) has the purpose of providing the New Zealand electricity supply sector with leadership, education, and advocacy on health and safety issues. They do this by providing expert advice and information on technical, engineering and safety issues affecting the electricity industry.
  
The organisation serves a membership body of more than 50 Corporate Members and over 450 individual professional members, all of whom look to them for guidance, advice, and training on health and safety performance within their workplace, and the wider public domain.
