Security Engineer - Level 2

At Datacom, we manage some of the largest clients and run some of the largest IT projects in NZ and our Security Operations Centre (SOC) is looking for a talented Security Engineer to join us during this growth period. The Cybersecurity space continues to be a massive growth area and there are some real opportunities to utilise your current skills and develop your security career.

 

We are currently looking for an additional Security Engineer, Level 2 who is interested in progressing their career in the rapidly growing area of Security Operations.

 

 

The Security Engineer, Level 2 is a member of the Auckland Security Operations Centre and is primarily responsible for security platform and SOC team infrastructure related activities in all environments.

 

The core objectives and responsibilities of the Security Engineer, Level 2 include (but not limited to);

 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the Cybersecurity sector and is looking to build a career in this space. You will have a solid understanding of networks, firewalls, proxies, SIEM, Endpoint controls DLP concepts and technologies.

You will have at least 3 years’ experience in an IT technical support related role and ideally some exposure to security technologies such as McAfee, Symantec, Trend Micro, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, FireEye, etc.

 

It is vital you have a solid understanding of ITIL and experience troubleshooting and resolving application and network problems.

 

Candidates with more than 2 years Linux OS experience are highly regarded.
