The Wellington District Intelligence unit supports district Police leaders and frontline officers in understanding and planning for risks, challenges and opportunities in Wellington District criminal environment. The work we do directly contributes to positive outcomes for our communities, by helping to deploy our Police officers efficiently, and reduces victimisation. As an Intelligence Analysts, you will inform decision makers, leading to safer communities across the Wellington district.
This position requires someone who is driven to solve problems and works to a high standard.
The key objective of this role for you is:
- To contribute to crime and crash reductions and the prevention and disruption of criminal activity by preparing nationally standardised intelligence products that inform and support prevention, intervention and enforcement activities.
- To have a good understanding of the New Zealand Police 'Our Business' which outlines our purpose; mission, vision and goal, links our people to our strategies, and how you and your role fit into this model.
Person specifications:
- Develop and apply intelligence processes and principles
- Coaching junior staff
- Lead project teams to ensure timely delivery of quality products to decision makers
- Maintain quality of work under strict timeframes
- Ability to present complex issues (written and verbal) clearly to a range of audiences.

Special Requirements
Successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
Certification requirements
You will hold a National Diploma of Intelligence Analysis (NDIA) at the time of appointment.
Additional information:
- Successful applicant must reside within Wellington District
- You must submit a portfolio of your work at the time of applying for this position.
