Brand new opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join an established team focused on enabling customers to transform their traditional delivery and operations approaches, empowering them to build and deliver high value software rapidly. As part of this team, you’ll have many opportunities to contribute your ideas and help shape service in a fast moving and rapidly evolving space.
In this new role, you’ll join a dynamic environment collaborating with highly respected and experienced colleagues. The role also offers the potential to work with cutting-edge technology and to expand your skills in wider technical areas. Solutions may be on-premise or cloud-based, but generally make extensive use of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) or Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) technologies.
In this role you will be working very closely with Agile development teams, so you’ll need a good working knowledge of DevOps tools and processes.
We’re looking for the following as essential current experience:
- Practical experience/understanding in DevOps environments, Continuous Delivery objectives, principles and practices
- Experience with open-source DevOps toolchain software (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting and automation practises
- Experience with security encryption tools (e.g. OpenSSL) and certificates
Additional experience in at least two of the following areas would be highly beneficial:
- API Management platforms (e.g. 3Scale, APIgee)
- Containerisation technologies (e.g. Docker)
- PaaS/Platform-as-a-Service (e.g. OpenShift, Azure App Service, Elastic Beanstalk
- Public cloud providers (e.g. Azure, AWS)
- Provisioning and configuration management (e.g. Terraform, Ansible).
If you have knowledge in other areas such Linux system administration, middleware, software support standards, processes, experience creating infrastructure diagrams and process documentation these will add bonus points to your application.
