About the Organisation 

The organisation has around 1,000 employees. A private sector organisation, their Head Office is based here in Wellington. They have a total of 50 people based in Head Office, and an IT team of 8 people, within which you would be based.

The working environment is very similar to that of a start-up in terms of the innovation, variety, flexibility and speed at which they work. That said, they have NONE of the disadvantages of a start up. This is a long-established and highly successful organisation that is a household name around New Zealand. They offer a great work environment and knowledge and career development opportunities second to none.

About the role

They are in the midst of carrying out a major digital transformation initiative, and they need to find people with a sound background in digital initiatives and technologies.

The role has two key elements.

As their in-house Consulting Business Analyst, you will be regularly liaising with the technical architects and developers around issues relating to code review and design and systems integration and implementation, so you need to be able to be part of meaningful - but not expert-level - discussions around those.

The other key element of the Consulting Business Analyst role will have you liaising with the business users to identify needs and requirements. This will include all aspects of researching and writing proof-of-concept, business process design and modelling and data management and migration.  

They are looking for someone with 3-4 years’ experience with the following technologies:

• C#/ .Net / Visual Studio Online or similar (e.g. Java)
• Azure Logic Apps (Integration as a Service Platform)
• SQL Azure 
• Angular 2+ / Ionic
• Agile Methodologies

You don't have to be a whiz in all of these

It is likely that you are a talented software developer who is now looking to move their career in to more of a project oriented, business engagement and consulting pathway. 

Their environment, whilst technically interesting and varied, is fairly unstructured so you need to be comfortable working in a situation that is not highly structured. 

At the moment, they are using a large number of bespoke systems already in place that have been designed especially for them. You will be given full training on those, so no worries there.

The great thing is that they will be implementing brand new, leading edge systems in the near future, and you will get full training on those, too.
