Summary

Are you the support worker we are looking for? Someone who is passionate about supporting people on their recovery journeys? If so, then keep reading.

This position is permanent, working awake night shifts, 56 hours per fortnight

Week One – Sunday to Wednesday nights from 11:00pm to 7:00am

Week Two – Sunday to Tuesday nights from 11:00pm to 7:00am.

As a support worker you will be providing support for service users throughout the evening, as well as being there to provide any support needed during the night. While the people you support are asleep, you will be kept busy with other tasks like cleaning and supporting the day shifts with maintaining things like filing, first aid kits, emergency kits and preparation of paperwork.

The Team

You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Pathways New Plymouth Mill Road Residential Services team, supporting up to 13 residents, working in a team of 9 Support Workers – all with a common purpose to support people experiencing mental illness.

 

You

We are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature and work in a recovery focused way, you will be able to provide medication support for our people and have impeccable attention to detail.

  • You must hold a current full drivers licence
  • Hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent.  Alternatively, you will commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. Pathways offers significant support for support workers to complete this study.
