About Orange Sky

Orange Sky, founded in Australia in 2014, is a not-for-profit organisation focused on the provision of free laundry and showers to people experiencing homelessness. We’re driven, dedicated, insanely ambitious and a little unconventional.

We’re growing, and fast.

…And now we’re expanding our services into New Zealand.

We’re landing in Auckland later this year, but that’s only the beginning for Orange Sky New Zealand.

The Role

Join us as a key influencer in Orange Sky’s international expansion; this role offers the opportunity to help the 1 in 100 people experiencing homelessness in NZ with a hands-on project-management approach. You’ll spend the first month of your employment with Orange Sky at our Brisbane HQ getting up to speed, and then fully backed and supported by the Australian team, you’ll head back to NZ and establish operations and services from the ground up.

You’ll be a quick-thinking, super organised go-getter, responsible for building community partnerships to support the launch of Orange Sky New Zealand, and the day to day operational management of services and volunteers.

Key duties include:

  • Supporting the launch of Orange Sky New Zealand;
  • Modify Orange Sky policies, procedures and systems to suit the New Zealand regulatory and legislative environment;
  • Recruitment, training and ongoing support of the regional management team and volunteers in your region;
  • Developing mechanisms to measure service performance;
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing development of Orange Sky operational procedures and services.

Who are we looking for?

The applicant ideally has experience in a similar role within a fast-paced organisation, ideally within the community services sector. Experience in the development and implementation of community projects will be highly regarded.

Additionally, the ideal applicant has:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community services or equivalent experience
  • The ability to travel to Orange Sky HQ in Brisbane, Australia
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate with a highly diverse range of people and manage a large and diverse workforce;
  • Ability to work remotely; both independently, and within a team and
  • Proactive attitude, and a genuine passion for our cause.
