About the business
English Language Partners is a not-for-profit, award-winning education provider with NZQA category 1 endorsement, that has been providing English language and social support to adult refugees and migrants for over 40 years.
About the role
We are seeking a part-time teacher to support learners who are employed but keen to improve their workplace language skills as part of our ESOL Literacy programme, a programme designed to teach literacy in English to adult refugee and migrant learners who have little or no literacy in either English or in their first language.
What's the job?
Four classes, 9am to 11.30 am, Monday to Thursdays during school terms. Christchurch based.
We would love to hear from you if you are/have:
· A tertiary qualification in TESOL (minimum level 5) such as CELTA, Cert TESOL, Cert TEAL, Dip SLT – one which contains a practicum.
AND one of the following
· A New Zealand teaching qualification (preferably primary teaching)
· A literacy educator qualification such as NZCALE (Voc)
· Experience in teaching ESOL and/or adult literacy is also required
· A motivated self-starter with strong cultural sensitivity, empathy and the ability to work as part of a tight-knit team.
