Wow, what a role! Our client is looking for the right candidate to become the key link in their business to ensure everything runs smoothly. In order to be a success in this position, you will need to be someone that is exceptionally organised, can plan ahead and is a general ‘good sort’ as relationships are key.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for a lot, but the at the core it’s about ensuring that everything is on hand at the workshop, when it is required and all management administration requirements are up to speed. It sounds easy, but let us tell you more…
- You need to have a knowledge of engineering drawings, materials and processes (you will be in charge of stock control and general logistics)
- A high level of computer literacy is essential, experience with Workflow Max would be great and a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite is vital
- You will be the link in the chain that makes things happen. You need a good knowledge of the industry and or be able to apply your transferrable skills with a willingness to learn quickly.
- Managing logistics is key, being organised and being able to plan ahead to order materials and supplies would be your responsibility
- You’ve got to have a love for paperwork and keeping it in tip-top order. There are components of accounts, dealing with suppliers and customers
The Operations Manager needs their finger on the pulse. The people and materials will be as and where they are needed to get work done in specified timeframes. Fleet and building management fall into their hands and all stakeholder relationships will be grown and nurtured.
As a person, we need someone who can stay calm under pressure, handle difficult conversations and situations. Someone who is really methodical (we really mean this) and is extremely trustworthy.
