The company:
Our client is a medium sized freight forwarding company based at Auckland Airport that is looking for an addition to their Customs Team.
The role:
- The role will cover a number of duties as below:
- Data entry of shipment details into EDI
- Organising MPI/Customs inspections
- Applications for new supplier codes
- Database management to include updating or setting up new product codes
- Dealing with clients, ensuring docs received for clearance, obtaining further info required for clearances
- Keeping the client informed on the progress of their clearances and shipments and their deliveries
- Compiling and classifying entries
- Handling Duty Drawbacks and TIE's & TIA's
- Invoicing of jobs
- Assisting in deliveries or helping/backing up your colleagues with their workload
Client requirements:
- Previous experience working in a freight forwarder or shipping line with a minimum 6 months experience or more
- Some experience using EDI is beneficial
- Be available for overtime if and when required

This role is Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm although as you well know that there needs to be some flexibility to stay back in the busy periods and when required.
