The Opportunity

This business has achieved remarkable success as a plastics manufacturer, and is undergoing significant growth, through the addition of new technologies and products.  Quality is in their DNA, where they are the preferred supplier for some of the world’s leading medical device and animal health companies.  Their growth has resulted in the creation of this new role, to be based at their Hamilton manufacturing plant.
  

About the Role

The position exists primarily as the interface between the Technician Manager and the injection moulding process.  You’ll be part of a capable team ensuring machinery runs efficiently and all productions made are compliant with the required specifications.  You need to be able to work independently, be practical and know how to set up and operate Injection Moulding machinery and ensure changeovers are smooth and completed on time. 
  
You’ll be looked at for your experience to help improve processes and quality initiatives, and new ways of thinking are highly appreciated, as further duties include assisting production staff to troubleshoot manufacturing problems.
  

Role Function / Responsibilities
  • Being able to interact with Internal & External Stakeholders,
  • Work with New Product Development (NPD) team to see projects through from concept to implementation,
  • Support Technicians and Die Setters,
  • Project Management to agreed timelines,
  • Assist production to ensure machinery runs efficiently,
  • Perform qualification and validation of equipment and tooling
  • Excellent problem solving skills,
  • Be proactive and have a can-do attitude,
  • Actively promote Health & Safety to improve standards.
  
Experience & Education
  • Injection Moulding Plastics experience,
  • Plastics Level 4 Qualification is preferred,
  • Ability to provide recommendations on technical / plastics related queries,
  • Proven leadership capabilities,
  • Demonstration of troubleshooting skills,
  • Strong communication skills and be a team player,
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and methodologies.
