We are looking for a proactive team member to join our experienced Supply Chain Team as aTactical Planner/ Buyer. Based at our Albany manufacturing site, this role will be involved in sourcing and managing suppliers to ensure components, products and raw materials are delivered in-full, on-time, in-specification and at the best price. Using forecasts, production outputs and other inventory metrics to anticipate customer demands, manage inventory, and help plan production you will also take part in various process improvement projects to continuously reduce costs, launch new products, and improve supply chain service.
To be successful in this role you will have 5+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, procurement, and project management in a large company with knowledge of:
- Best practice supply chain principles
- Category management
- MRP replenishment
- eCommerce
- Project management
- Supplier management.
Your effective negotiation skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and desire to explore opportunities will help you deal with new and existing suppliers, often from the other side of the world, to get the best from your supply chain.
Ideally, you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification related to supply chain management, commerce or NZPICS CPIM.
Computer literacy and mathematical skills are crucial as you generate forecasts using our ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and Microsoft Excel to inform policies and purchasing plans.
