About the role

We have an opportunity for an experienced professional to lead our successful Corporate Services team based in Mt. Wellington. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a market leader actively seeking opportunities to pioneer new initiatives, ensuring proactive and creative engagement from a procurement perspective. 

 

The right person will bring energy and drive to expand the role, embracing commercial strategy, aligning with managers and negotiating effective solutions.

 

Leadership of the Corporate Services team (3 direct reports) expands the scope.  Additional to owning and driving effective procurement strategy, the position leads a team which delivers across property, insurance, light vehicle fleet and coordination of business policy. 

 

What you will achieve?

  • Create, implement and deliver a strategy which provides a competitive advantage for Waste Management in the procurement of all direct and indirect materials required by the company
  • Develop and manage the procurement management function and model for Waste Management
  • Review, develop, implement and manage Waste Management’s insurance programme including frameworks, processes and procedures to ensure cost-effective and relevant insurance is maintained
  • Monitor the level of retained risk the business carries and ensure that insurance coverage meets identified risk exposure and is procured in a cost-effective manner by negotiating rates with insurers on an annual basis

 

We are looking for an individual who has proven procurement experience in a large complex business. As a procurement professional, you will understand that relationships are key – internally and externally, up down and across levels and sectors.  Your ability to build trust, influence and advocate will ensure a culture where partnerships are leveraged to enhance competitive advantage for the business.
