The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager or an experienced Procurement Specialist ready for the next step in their career. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead and enhance the procurement strategy across all business units, whilst improving the commercial outcomes through enhanced negotiation capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • leading and developing the procurement capability including expertise in terms of strategic direction whilst ensuring that CIAL is kept up to date with global best practice
  • liaising and managing relationships with the business/internal stakeholders to ensure planning, agree a pipeline of procurement priorities and to support the business with delivering their projects and key objectives
  • reviewing procurement policies, procedures and strategic knowledge to ensure a reflection of global best practice
  • enhancing CIAL's supply chain to ensure continuous improvement, innovation, resilience and best cultural fit to allow CIAL to deliver its objectives and goals
  • leading or managing RFx market engagements 'end to end' ensuring compliance and overall best value for CIAL, this includes drafting all documentation and managing the whole process either directly or with the Procurement team
  • establishing SLAs and KPIs to monitor key aspects of supplier performance as part of a robust contract management process
  • leading a small team and providing guidance and support to Managers throughout the company.

The person

The successful candidate will:

  • ideally have at least seven years experience in procurement and three years in a management or senior role
  • have MCIPS or internationally recognised Procurement Management certification or equivalent experience is preferred
  • demonstrate commercial discipline and focus, managing commercial risk while driving growth
  • be a strong team player with excellent relationship building skills
  • have strong experience in implementing value delivery systems
  • be able to influence and negotiate on sourcing priorities and allocate procurement services
  • have experience in contract negotiations and undertaking tenders
  • be a good strategic and analytical thinker and can prioritise the management of a wide variety of tasks.
