Calder Stewart Steel Division
Our Calder Stewart Steel Division is recognised as a premium custom fabricator, continuously identifying ways to streamline steel detailing, pricing and final fabrication through the use of state-of-the-art software. Our innovative work supports the construction of our buildings by enabling less site welding, more accurate structures and the ability to undertake some of the larger scale construction projects recently completed.
About the Role
Due to increasing workloads we require an experienced Welder to join our team. Responsible for the quality fabrication of steel components that are essential to our business, work for this role is varied and interesting and will be conducted both in the workshop and onsite.
Skills and Attributes
Our ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to work autonomously or as part of a team. You will be focused on meeting targets and deadlines with a commitment to getting the job done. Prior work experience in the structural steel industry is desirable.
Additionally we will be seeking candidates with the following skills and attributes:
- A current welding ticket
- Read, understand and follow standard engineering drawings accurately (essential)
- Produce high quality work efficiently
- Experience in LEAN thinking advantageous
- Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly, helpful way
- Handle a wide variety of work - be versatile
- Be able to work variable hours e.g. weekends
