Ocean Import Operator – Bangere, NZ

CEVA Logistics has an opportunity for an experienced Ocean Import Operator to join their team based in Mangere, NZ.  

The purpose of this role is to assist and support the Ocean Operations Team in Import shipments. This will allow the division to meet the requirements set by the business for both internal and external expectations. The role is also responsible for processing export and / or import shipments with liaison with internal CEVA departments both locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities;

• Registration of Import Jobs in OFS and Expedient
• Cargo Reporting / Under bond movements
• Acquittal of under bond cargo with Australian Customs, check in of damages and freight into systems and release of cargo from CEVA warehouse in Expedient.
• Coordinating release of shipments from carrier / co-loaders
• Handover of documentation to Customs Broker
• Keep customer/s engaged at all times on the status and progress of their shipment
• Advise customer/s when a delay affects their shipment of cargo
• Collection of COD charges for handover shipments
• Invoicing of shipments capturing all revenue and costs accurately within KPIs
• Managing and completing Financial Control Reports
• Shipment milestone completion (excluding POD)
• Local Vendor Dispute Resolution

Knowledge, Skills and Experience;

• Relevant experience in a similar role
• Exposure to shipping lines, co-loaders and airlines
• Read, write and communicate effectively
• Calculation of weight, cubic measurement and currency conversion
• Read, analyse and interpret shipping documents
• Ability to work autonomously and also within a team
• Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
• A strong customer service and customer relationship management orientation
• Strong Microsoft suite software skills (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint).
