We are a coffee roasting company specialising in specialty grade beans from around the world.

 Our main product is our coffee beans which we sell through retail and we also run a small boutique cafe at our premise to showcase our product. We set ourselves different from most coffee companies in NZ where our main goal is focused on bringing the best coffee experience to our direct consumers and trying to educate our consumers to a better understanding about better coffee quality. 

Our company is running now for almost 6 years and is approaching a new stage where we feel the need of more people to help with the healthy growth of the business. 

We are now currently searching for a unique individual to join our small group of team to help us grow our company to the next level. 

Job Position: 'Shop Assistant'

Position description is as follows:

 -Experienced Coffee Cupper-

We are looking for someone who can manage with the head roaster with the quality control of our coffee beans. This person we are seeking requires a great understanding about quality of specialty coffee beans. 

Who has either previously worked for a company using the specialty coffee association and/or cup of excellence programme cupping score sheets to manage their quality control for the company and/or has attended seminars, courses and has received training to reach a certain level of skill to taste coffee. To a standard where he or she is able to detect any defects from the beans and also diffirenciate the difference between different types and level of the quality of the beans which will then allow them to be able to assist with green bean coffee purchasing. 

He/She will be asked to do daily checks of roasted beans and assist managing a consistent quality at all times. 

The daily work will involve making coffee as well therefore we are looking for someone who have a good coffee making skill.

Barista skills with enough knowledge for them to be able to callibrate coffee for correct extraction with any types of coffee, a basic machine mechanical understanding, capable of managing basic maintenance for both coffee grinder and espresso machine, skilled pouring of milk for latte art, consistency in making coffee at a fast running cafe environment.

He or she will also require to do other tasks such as closing up the shop and general sales work within the store.

 He/She has to genuinely enjoy working in the coffee industry and eager to learn more and improve on their skills, someone with a drive. A friendly person who can fit well into a team of people and is a good team player, whom engages well to make the working environment a great one. 

This position is unique and though direct responsibilities may not be in their  position nevertheless as the position title is written, this person must be able to assist in many areas of the running of the company with confidence and a great foundation of coffee knowledge and skills.
