New World Porirua offers the right applicant the opportunity to join a very friendly and successful Produce department. We are looking for an applicant who is customer service focused always puts quality first and is able to achieve the requirements and targets set for the department. The Produce department is the first area our customers see, we are looking for an applicant that will ensure our first impression is always excellent, setting the standard for the rest of the supermarket. The Job: You will work alongside others who have a passion for quality fruits and vegetables. You will be required to assist in maintaining stock levels, rotating stock, trimming and preparing vegetables for display, while also managing the next day’s stock. Presentation and display of our products is of utmost importance, regular checks of the department and having an overview of its needs are paramount. This includes ensuring our prices are correct and we have advertised stock available at all times. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently will be beneficial; you will have to use your initiative during our busiest times. The Requirements: You must have previous experience in customer service, a friendly and welcoming personality and be willing to help when needed. You will also be proud of your work, strive to always improve and be willing to learn about the fresh produce you will be working with. You must be flexible to the demands of a busy department requiring you to work a mixture of early and late shifts. The Hours: We are currently seeking applicants willing to work between 30 – 40 hours a week. Remuneration is to be discussed with the successful applicant.
