About the business and the role

• Our New Regent St store is looking for on -call casual retail staff to work weekends, school holidays and the odd week day..
• We are a jewellery and bead store and so experience in either field would be an advantage.
• This role would suit someone who has had experience in retail sales and someone who thrives on selling and customer interaction.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Helping customers to choose beads and threads etc
• The successful applicant will also be required to take birthday parties and school holiday workshops. Enjoying working with children is a must
• Housekeeping duties and refilling displays
• Selling jewellery, including our precious Ngai Tahu pounamu and Rowena Watson Designs
• Helping tourists of all nationalities to find gifts and all they need to make jewellery
• Helping to repair jewellery (full training given)

Skills and experience

• Numeracy skills essential as there is a lot of math involved.
• Be Computer literate (we have a specialised bead and jewellery software system)
• Good fitness as you will be on your feet most of your working day
• Confidence and outgoing  warm and friendly social skills
• A love of people
