The Role

As Digital Marketing Manager for SEO, you will fill a vital role within the team, creating cost efficient consumer engagement. This role is all about demand generation. You will hold responsibility for the strategies, initiatives and programmes which will bring relevant consumer traffic to our online properties (repeatedly). Your role will be responsible for optimizing our online presence with the aim of enhancing our organic (and paid) growth, complement integrated online campaigns and promoting brand awareness for our organization.

The tools you will have to do the job are yours to define, but our expectation is that you will be an accomplished SEO expert who can define the right resources and partnerships needed to create success. A person with a track record of successfully implementing best practices within eCommerce. This person should be well-versed in managing URL structures, have experience and authority to lead our (international) SEO roadmap, and liaise with key stakeholders within the organisation to achieve their KPIs.

We are looking for a person with hunger for success. A person who isn’t going to cross the line but who is perhaps a little more ‘pirate’ than ‘navy’ when it comes to design and implementation of successful initiatives. This role is ideal for candidates who are innovative and are constantly mining data for insights, are device / channel agnostic within their DNA, are happiest when solving technical (international) web issues and implementing actionable and scalable SEO improvements.

 

Key areas of Responsibilities

  • Analyze and identify top organic channels & define SEO strategies for Organic Growth
  • Work on acquisition strategies that will increase convertible traffic (acquisition will be a key KPI for the initial period of the role)
  • Make data driven decisions for optimizing user journey
  • Optimize content for search and all channels including web, mobile, social and email
  • Conduct ongoing SERP analysis of critical head terms and optimize on-page content and internal link architecture for head terms (potentially in multiple languages). Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, content optimization, meta-tag creation, link development and other SEO related activities
  • Handle webmaster tools for traffic analysis and reporting. Report regularly on SEO KPIs (including SERP ranking, organic traffic volume, bounce rates, CTR, conversion, CPA and more) and for conducting back-link analysis of our / competitor properties to find new link opportunities and monitor link quality
  • Assist in technical SEO initiatives such as redirect analysis, log file analysis, robots.txt, schema mark-up. Identify and manage crawl errors, sitemaps, site speed issues and any other technical concerns
  • Work closely with IT to ensure alignment with SEO strategies and ensure all major website changes have no negative SEO impacts
  • Identify gaps, trends, new initiatives to be explored (competitor and non-related categories), CRO, technical improvements, new tools, partner algorithm changes, best practice. Proactively identify and offer solutions to reverse any negative trends 
  • Manage agencies, vendors and in-house teams in all areas impacting SEO
  • Knowledge and experience with SEM/PPC is a plus but not necessary

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3-5+ years of SEO experience at an Enterprise level in Retail/E-Commerce or omni-channel Advanced knowledge in SEO strategies, tactics and execution. Up to date on latest search engine algorithm updates
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Experience with data-based decision-making
  • High-level knowledge of SEO, Organic Growth & Content Marketing. Bonus is active experience as an SEO copywriter with an understanding of how to write for both users and search engines at once
  • Organic engagement subject matter expert
  • Extensive experience with software and common industry tools for data, tracking, and analytics such as Majestic, Scrapebox, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, AWR
  • Expert level knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, Google Keyword Planner, Google Page Speed Insights, Tag Manager, and Data Studio for reporting
  • Some experience with marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Marketo is a bonus
  • Strong organizational project management and collaboration skills, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines. Skilled at resolving conflicts by taking an open communication style, customer-centric, service-minded, positive, win-win approach.
  • Able to develop productive and consultative working relationships across marketing, sales, IT, business development and data warehousing teams
  • Dynamic, hard-working, and able to pivot direction quickly to keep up with business demands
