Phytomed is a growing herbal medicine brand, and a leader in the New Zealand natural health sector. We pride ourselves on producing the highest quality herbal medicines for consumers (Kiwiherb) and practitioners (Phytomed), using New Zealand-grown organic ingredients. Key to success is our NPD strategy and team of high-performers focused on product quality and customer service. 

An increasing focus of Phytomed is to make the Kiwiherb brand truly global. Australia is currently our main export market, and we plan to expand into other markets in the near future. Daigou trade to China, and ongoing development and enhancement of our digital marketing activities are key components of the brand strategy.

We are looking for an experienced Digital specialist, with all-round top-quality marketing skills, and a go-getter attitude. Supporting the Marketing Manager in executing marketing strategies across the Kiwiherb and Phytomed brands through all markets and channels, you’ll get the opportunity to grow and learn quickly. Digital is your passion; your strong record of success in this channel demonstrates this. You’ll be accustomed to developing and executing excellent digital strategy. You learn and work quickly, take initiative and will drive value for the business through continuous improvement in how you operate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development of digital and social media brand strategies.
  • Optimal execution of the digital and social media brand strategy, including:
    • Developing internal buy-in,
    • Successfully collaborating with internal stakeholders to generate engaging content that tells our story,
    • Driving traffic to brand touchpoints,
    • Creating engaging visual content,
    • Across platforms: e-newsletters, web pages, blog content, social media etc,
    • Continually ensuring we’re on all platforms that we need to be to tell our brand story.
  • Brand website relaunch, including content curation, extending how we tell our brand story, and optimising performance based on site analytics.
  • Aligning with our brand look and feel, developing and producing effective:
    • Marketing collateral in all forms (flyers, brochures, leaflets, coupons, newsletters, promotional material etc),
    • Technical publications, including liaising with agencies where required,
    • Internal collaboration to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Assist with the organisation of trade shows, seminars and promotional events.
  • Monitor new product distribution and consumer and retailer feedback.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications.
  • Evaluate market trends and conditions.
  • Research consumer markets and competitor activity to identify opportunities and key issues.
  • Provide monthly reports on marketing initiatives and their effectiveness, as well as key market information.

 

You will have:

  • A Bachelor degree in Marketing, or a similar qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-degree experience in a marketing role with strong digital focus.
  • A solid understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy, and best practice.
  • Passion and energy; in your cover letter, you will tell us why our organisation is of particular interest to you.
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • In-depth knowledge, understanding and experience utilising social media platforms.
  • Excellent writing and language skills.
  • A go-getter attitude, ready to pull your sleeves up and do a lot of learning!
