About the role
Our client is seeking an ambitious and passionate Accountant who is looking to develop their career in a growing, adaptable and positive firm. They can offer you the opportunity to advance your career, to be supported in your success and to be rewarded for excellence. The main purpose of this position is to support the accounting team. The main duties include:
- Client invoicing
- Basic book-keeping, preparation for annual and monthly accounts, IR returns; income tax, payroll, GST and FBT
- Filing of accounting records Support clients to improve their financial statements and record keeping using Xero
- Assist partners and senior staff with the day to day accounting requirements of our clients
Skills & experience
- Recent graduate or someone nearing completion of their degree, work experience in a NZ Chartered Accounting office is ideal
- Understanding of New Zealand GST returns, tax returns and annual financial statements
- Strong analytical and interpretative skills
- Experience with Xero accounting software beneficial but the right person can be trained
- Excellent communication skills
