STEEL FABRICATOR / WELDER (DAY OR AFTERNOON SHIFT)
A fulltime vacancy exists for a Welder/Fabricator to join the production team on afternoon shirt for a well-established and highly regarded company around the globe, manufacturing a variety of precision CNC plasma and flame (oxyfuel) cutting machinery and multi process machines that combine machining operations like drilling and tapping with cutting operations.

Key qualities of an ideal candidate:
- Experience with Large Mild Steel Assembly Fabrications using MIG welding
- MIG Welding - Mild Steel from 1.2mm to 10mm.
- An advantage if you’re experienced with MIG welding in mild steel fabrications particularly light gauge sheetmetal (1.5mm to 3mm)
- Trade qualified and/or current welding tickets are desirable but not essential
- Ability to interpret design drawings / measure / cut accurately / weld neatly.
- MIG Welding brackets end plates onto 10mm plate.
- Must be able to weld accurately, with precision, with a good finish & with minimal cleaning required.
- Reading engineering drawings is very important in this role and following the procedures and working to schedules.
- Trade qualified and/or current welding tickets are desirable but not essential
- You must be able hit the ground running.
- Looking for someone versatile and can think outside the square.
- Physically fit.
- Able to work unassisted, work to deadlines and produce quality workmanship at all times.
- A good attitude, a team player and not afraid of a challenge.
- Clear fluent English must be spoken in order to follow instructions and for Health & Safety reasons
- Applicants should have the right to work in NZ and be ready to start as soon as possible
Job details:
- Type - Full time permanent position
- Wage - $25-$28/hr neg with qualifications, skills & experience
- Based – North Shore, Auckland
- Hours – Day (6.30am to 3.00pm) or Afternoon Shift (3.00pm-11.30pm)
- Allowances – 20% Shift allowance
- Start - A.S.A.P.
