MOTAT seeks a competent team player to maintain our exhibition spaces and displays on a part-time basis.
As an Exhibition Technician, you will assist the Exhibitions Team with the building, construction, fabrication and installation of our exhibition spaces and display items. In addition to the physical demands of this role, tasks will also include routine maintenance and repair of manual, digital and audio-visual interactive elements of the exhibitions.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate your ability to:
- Build, fabricate and install exhibition components such as walls, plinths, object mounts, and showcases.
- Maintain and repair exhibit components, including manual, digital and audio-visual interactive displays.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, with minimal oversight by prioritising work and handling interruptions effectively.
- Assist in unloading, unpacking, installing and dismantling of exhibitions
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Experience in a range of building and construction materials and techniques
- The ability to diagnose basic mechanical and technical problems and develop solutions to fix issues.
- A Full Drivers Licence
- Forklift Licence (desirable)
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and interpret accurately
- Ability to work flexible hours
To support in the operational concerns of MOTAT’s exhibition programme, you are required to work one weekend day with normal working hours of 24 hours per week.
