The Role

AECOM has a rare opportunity for an experienced Electrician to join their team based in the town of Alice Springs on a full time 3 year fixed term basis with possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator you will perform the electrical maintenance and repair of domestic switchboards and equipment throughout the program on their residential properties and associated facilities.

Work is performed at residential properties as well as other facilities in the town of Alice Springs.  Occasional overtime and callouts will be required.

The responsibilities of the Electrician include, but are not limited to:

• Maintenance tasks; either programmed (planned) maintenance or repairs as required
• Perform fault finding as required
• Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts as necessary
• Connecting electrical systems to power supply
• Testing continuity of circuits
• Ensure equipment is maintained to operate in a safe manner in accordance with ASNZ:3000
• Report any incidents to management as a priority
• Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks
• Assist in other areas of facilities and maintenance area from time to time as required
• Work to ensure that safety is an integral part of everyday activities

   

About You

• Demonstrated 3-5 years’ experience in construction and industrial maintenance work
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Ability to work professionally with minimal supervision
• Good interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Good communication skills – verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete assigned tasks
• Demonstrated ability to identify and analyse issues and develop solutions to problems
• Australian Government NV1 Security clearance or ability to gain one

Qualifications

Essential

• Trade Qualification – Cert III in Electrotechnology Electrician
• A Grade Electrical Mechanic License
• Current Driver’s License

Desirable

• Electrical nominee NT
• Training in appropriate safety procedures (i.e. Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Working in Trenches etc.)
• First Aid certificate
• Low voltage rescue
• Strategic with proven project management skills
