The Role

The purpose of each Infrastructure Technician is to perform warranty, commissioning or retrofit troubleshooting and modification work for the fleet of trains on the Sydney Light Rail project. The post holder will manage their time as needed to enable the completion of their duties in accordance with specified procedures and regulations, at all times complying with the companies Quality, Health & Safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform isolation as necessary.
• Carry out routine examinations, fault finding, interrogation and diagnostic testing on Power Supply & Catenary systems.
• To actively maintain and repair Power Supply, Doors, HVAC, Traction, CCTV and Train Control systems.
• Follow all established safety procedures, good housekeeping practices and utilize safety equipment as required.
• To report daily, weekly on activities, problem found and measures taken.
• Install system hardware and software upgrades.
• Assist experienced staff in disciplines other than own speciality.
• To actively participate in the reduction of Deviations from Standard reported each month on Health, Safety or Environmental Grounds, as per ALSTOM procedures.
• Participate in any cross functional activities as necessary.

  Key Requirements

• Australian recognised electrical licence.
• Electrical trade qualification.
• Previous experience working as an Electrician on warranty, commissioning & retrofit work of rolling stock.
• A strong skill when it comes to reading electrical schematic's as well at crimping.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and can work well in a team environment.
• Good trouble shooting skills.
