Working as a fitter in our Steelmaking maintenance team you will execute planned maintenance and inspection tasks, identify opportunities for improvement and provide feedback via the maintenance management system. You will be required to complete all tasks safely and to a high quality. There will also be regular shutdown tasks requiring your input as an individual or working with other members of the team. This position is a 12 hour shift roster position with the potential for overtime.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring availability and reliability for the billet caster and combi casters within the steelmaking operations. This will include the execution of preventative and predictive maintenance as well as attending to breakdowns if the need arises.

To be successful in this role, you will meet the below criteria:

  • Hold a current and relevant trade fitting qualification
  • Possess exceptional fault finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Have a proactive approach, whilst holding safety and customer as core values
  • Confident communicator who can work unsupervised
  • Previous experience with shutdown activity
  • Self-starter who is focused on outcomes and keen to contribute to the business as a whole

A current forklift and EWP high risk work licence is highly desirable. Those with experience working on plant and equipment within a similar heavy industry may be viewed favourably
