About the Business
Be part of one of Australia's biggest infrastructure projects working for a WORLD LEADER in infrastructure services and project management inside the M4 East WestConnex Tunnel Project, near Concord.
About the Role
This career enhancing permanent contract role will run approximately 3 - 4 months and involve supporting: the installation of electrical monitoring devices, lighting, cable ladders, brackets, terminations and verification testing of electrical equipment through the 5.5km M4 East tunnel.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
• Utilising your industrial/construction/tunnelling electrical experience to assist the electrical trades, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Assisting qualified electricians.
• Cable pulling.
• Cable trays.
• Work set up and pack down.
• Spotting.
• Manual labour.
• Attention to safety.
Your commitment to working a 6 day roster, up to 56 hours per week will see you rewarded with an EXCELLENT $34 hourly base rate, then time and a half, double time penalty rates and a $42 daily travel allowance.
Skills and Experience
- Construction Safety White Card.
- High risk WP.
- Safety at Heights (must be current in the last 24 mths, if not client will arrange refresher course).
- Scissor lift (desirable not essential).
- Experience in cable pull and installation of cable ladder/tray.
- Previous electrical experience working in tunnels in Australia or internationally.
This is a ZERO HARM site and safe work practices MUST be adhered to at all times.
Working in a tunnel requires you to be clean shaven to wear the required respiratory mask. You will undergo a pre-employment medical as well as random drug & alcohol testing.
