About the business
Mackex Services (Maitland) is a growing organisation with a Fleet of 5 x Light Commercial and 12 x Medium to Heavy Vehicles and Plant.
Mackex Service Head Office and main fleet is based in Sydney and like Sydney, Maitland Depot runs a fleet of Cranes/Boring units, Elevated Platform vehicles, Small tippers, Line Trucks and 4 x 4 Service utilities plus various small plant items.
About the role
Duties & Responsibilities Include
- Conduct regular servicing of Light Commercial, Medium and Heavy Vehicles
- Carry out general repair work/routine maintenance on Fleet including Vehicles and Plant. Outsource additional repairs as required
- Conduct/prepare vehicles for registration inspection
- Inspection and replacement of vehicle safety equipment to ensure compliance with codes/standards ie Fire Extinguishers, First Aid Kits Slings and Chains
- Carry out vehicle breakdown assistance on site as and when required.
- Perform minor manufacturing/fabrication duties
- Carry out hydraulic repairs and routine maintenance.
- Procurement of spare parts

Skills and experience
- Trade qualified plant/motor mechanic with minimum 5 years post trade experience
- Computer skills including Spreadsheet and word processing.
- Proven Industry knowledge on procurement of spare parts
- Welding and small fabrication skills is an advantage
- Hydraulic/fluid experience desirable
- MR licence
