YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Due to internal promotion, we have multiple opportunities for an experienced Maintenance & Process Technician to join our Port Kembla team. As a trade qualified maintenance technician, this multi-dimensional role will see you execute effective maintenance across the site to achieve a safe and reliable plant, including maintenance planning and scheduling, engineering purchasing, and operational support across a wide range of plant activities. In addition, you will provide cover for extended leave, position vacancy or unforeseen absences of shift operators, meaning you will be required to work shift for periods throughout the year.
Key accountabilities:
- Implement corrective, preventive, predictive and pro-active maintenance schedules
- Maintenance planning and scheduling, supervising contractors as required
- Report and investigate plant performance and operational problems (including deviations) and take corrective action as required
- Contribute to HAZOP studies and plant design reviews and assist in the preparation of work scopes & JSA’s for equipment maintenance
- Operate the acid loading operations as per the site operating procedures
- Support other members of maintenance team for multi-disciplinary job types
ABOUT YOU
- Relevant trade qualification (Fitter or Boilermaker, instrument/electrical with experience in pipe fitting)
- Proven experience in plant-based maintenance, ideally in a chemical or industrial environment
- Knowledge of SHEQ standards and statutory regulations within manufacturing
- Computer literacy and an understanding of modern computerised maintenance systems
- Fault finding and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm, intelligence, dedication and an eye for detail

This is a standard Monday to Friday role, though there will be the opportunity to cover occasional shift work, so flexibility is important.
