SunPork Farms is offering unique opportunities for Maintenance Labourers to join its team in the roles of breakdown and preventative Maintenance.
These are full-time positions located at Tong Park Piggery, a 9000-sow facility located at Warra on the Western Downs.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the responsibilities of the role include:
- General Labouring tasks such as digging, lifting, assembling, carpentry
- Assisting tradesmen and contractors when necessary
- Operating hand and power tools of all types
- Loading and unloading equipment
- Clearing work areas
- Carrying out specified methods and controlled procedures
- Upholding a strong work ethic.
- Undertaking a pro-active role in fault finding and preventative maintenance
- Maintaining a high quality environment for the welfare and well-being of stock;
SunPork Farms has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team that is dedicated to producing high quality, sustainable welfare-optimal products. As a key member of this team, Maintenance Personnel must have:
- Previous experience in fixed plant maintenance
- Previous labouring experience
- A drivers license (manual preferred)
- Have a preparedness to work alternate weekends and some public holidays
- Be physically fit and able to cope with the physical demands of the role, which includes working with animals and manual handling tasks including lifting
- Be committed to upholding the highest levels of animal welfare and bio-security
- Have a positive attitude towards the intrinsic company values of trust, integrity, quality, efficiency and innovation;
