The Sunshine Coast Turf Club is a premium Thoroughbred Horse Racing and Function Facility and prides itself on its well maintained and manicured lawns and gardens.
A full-time (38 hour) position has become available for an Experienced Gardener. The suitable applicant must possess leadership skills to be able to plan, prioritise and complete work in a timely manner.
Some of the key performance skills we require, and that should be addressed in the application include the following:
- Plan, instigate and monitor garden and facilities maintenance programs
- Plant identification, care and seasonal knowledge
- Weeding / weed spraying of lawns and garden areas
- Pest identification / spraying for pests in lawns and garden areas
- Lawn services, including edge cutting and Ride-On Mower operation
- Hedging / Pruning
- Garden renovations, pruning and clearing
- Planting / Mulching
- Tree Branch Pruning
- Fertilising
- Understanding of basic irrigation
- Full Driver's Licence
You must be able to work well in a team environment and have the drive to provide high quality landscape maintenance. Attention to detail is essential.
Any certificates or tickets such as Herbicide Application licence would be viewed favourably. Please ensure these are listed on your resume.
The suitable applicant must have experience with maintaining gardens in a landscape situation within a commercial environment.
The position involves heavy lifting and outdoor work so consequently the applicant needs to be fit and healthy and be prepared to undergo a Physical Health Assessment.
This position would suit someone who is competent and qualified in horticulture.
