Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Production Manager, this technical position will see you play a hands on role in the repair and maintenance of the ACPB Electronic, Navigation and Communications Systems. Your main responsibility in this role will be to fault find and perform a variety of electronic tasks to ensure that all servicing, repairs and upgrades are completed to meet customer expectations and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance activities on the ACPB Electronic and Communications Systems
• Carry out surveys and reports with as required on the Electronic and communications Systems
• Assist in conducting various tests and trials for components or systems and prepare trials documentation
• Analysing data and assist in compiling reports for ACPB Electronic and Communications Systems
• Establish and maintain a close relationship with project managers, Navy and project teams.

About You

• Electronics and communications trade certificate is essential
• Experience working in a ship building/repair or similar heavy engineering industry
• Strong knowledge of ships navigation systems – radar and gyro
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks
• You will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to resolve highly complex problems

Special Requirements

It is essential that you are an Australian Citizen to be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance.
