About the business
We have been operating out of Port Lincoln for approximately 15 years and have a team of professional marine fitters and diesel mechanics with the expertise and knowledge to meet all Marine service requirements including:
- Extensive product knowledge
- Support and back up
- Customer communication and work scope understanding
- Skill and ability
- Factory trained technicians with dealership support
- Main engine propulsion
- Engine overhaul and breakdown repairs
- Marine gear and transmission repairs
- Fixed and controllable pitch propulsion servicing and repairs
- Steerable thrusters
- Hydraulic repairs and installs
- Deck machinery repairs and general servicing.
- Assisting in docking and survey requirements.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Leading hand for our Marine team of mechanical fitters.
The successful applicant will deliver high quality work to ensure that customer's expectations are achieved.
Tasks included in this position:
- Manage a team of marine technicians
- Perform routine maintenance and equipment repairs on machinery used in the current marine industry
- Assist in any sales and parts enquiries
- Fault diagnosis and trouble shooting of mechanical and electronic systems
- Conduct and manage major engine/equipment overhauls
- Conduct and manage below water line repairs, including propeller and propeller shaft repairs.
- Hydraulic repairs, sales and installations.

Skills and experience
To be eligible for this position, you MUST have the following skills and abilities:
- Australian Recognised trade Certificate
- Must be an Australian citizen and have permanent residency
- Current Police Check
- Hold a current driver's licence
- Team Player (but also an proven ability to work independently
- Excellent work ethic & attention to detail
- Managerial skills (Experience highly regarded)
- Time management & organisational skills
- Customer service skills, including verbal and written
- Strong focus on safety and compliance to safety standards
