Sci-Fleet Hino have an opportunity for Workshop Foreman/Controller at our Coopers Plains Service Centre. As a leader in the Australian medium duty truck market we pride ourselves on both customer service and quality.

 

Reporting to the Service Manager and working alongside other highly skilled and motivated employees. You will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage a team of technicians to maximise productivity and profitability within the workshop
  • Exercise excellent time management skills to balance resource with conflicting priorities
  • Build effective relationships with workshop staff
  • Motivate and train workshop staff while maintaining targets and deadlines
  • Providing high level guest service to the dealerships guests
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit
  • Conferring with the Service Advisor to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements
  • Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles
  • Taking all necessary steps to diagnose to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components
  • Diagnosing and repairing unusual problems
  • Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to service manager and record using in-house databases or reporting systems
  • Ordering parts needed as part of warranty service
  • Assisting Technicians with their skills, providing technical support when needed
  • Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to dealer product range
  • Ensuring that the workshop is in excellent condition in regard to cleanliness, safety and equipment condition
  • Test driving and conducting final assessments prior to the delivery or return of vehicles

 

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Qualified Technician under Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent qualification)
  • A Heavy Rigid truck license (or ability to obtain same) is advantageous
  • A strong work ethic with a high attention to detail
  • Servicing experience in Japanese trucks is preferred but not essentials
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to prioritize and adapt to changes in daily schedules
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrates safe working practices
  • A/C and RWC license desirable
