ALS Industrial's Power Services division is a leader in the provision of technical expertise and services in engineering, inspection, non-destructive testing and metallurgy, primarily to the power generation industry.
 
Due to the volume of Power Station outage work in 2018 and the renewal on a number of contracts, there are both permanent and casual NDT Technician positions available based from our Cameron Park office near Newcastle in New South Wales.
 
ALS are seeking the services of NDT technicians with skills and certification levels in all aspects of Non-Destructive testing including:-
  • MT and PT                                 Basic and Junior NDT Technicians
  • UT, RT or ET + Basic                   Advanced and Senior Technicians
  • PAUT, TOFD + Advanced             Specialist and Senior Technicians
You will be required to carry out high integrity NDT and Inspection work utilising your full complement of NDT methods in accordance with ALS Industrial procedures and Australian Standards. Additionally the successful applicants will be responsible to varying levels for:
  • Ensure that proper safety procedures and laws are strictly followed and adhered to at all times;
  • Perform tasks in a professional and diligent manner to the highest levels of integrity;
  • Liaising with clients and provide clear and concise results and information as required;
  • Prepare and compile worksheets and reports;
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained, calibrated and in a serviceable condition at all times;
  • Provide assistance (non NDT) to engineering and metallurgy staff where required
While these positions will be based out of ALS's Newcastle branch, our clients are based both locally and across Australia and some international so there will be a regular opportunity and requirement to travel to various sites during peak periods.
Permanent positions are expected to commence in July 2018 with casual roles expected to commence in late July for between 6 and 8 weeks in duration subject to final work program.
 
About you
 
In order to be considered for these roles, you must hold at a minimum:
  • Current Level II AINDT or equivalent (ISO 9712) Certification in at least two surface NDT methods for basic and junior technicians, while volumetric and advanced methods are required to be considered for advanced or specialist technicians.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a similar role;
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both in a team and autonomously;
  • Current, valid driver's licence.
Technicians with Power, Oil & Gas and/or heavy industry experience are highly desirable.
