 About the Position
This position would suit a person who is willing and able to turn their hand to any mechanical and general maintenance tasks that can be found in a sample preparation or analytical laboratory. 
The successful applicant will be given on the job training in all aspects of routine maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure they fully understand the task while also complying with ALS OHSE policy at all times.  A high level of communication will be required in this role as the successful candidate will need to be able to liaise directly with section supervisors along with the facility management promptly in regards to equipment issues or downtime.
  This role allows the employee to expand their skill base into the maintenance and/or repairs of all equipment on site.
 
About you
Applicants should possess the following attributes and qualities:

• Trade qualifications are not a prerequisite however previous experience with small scale mechanical maintenance in a production environment is essential
  
• Welding experience highly regarded
  
• Excellent work ethic
  
• Flexibility with working hours as shift work may be required
  
• Committed to a safety culture while maximising productivity
  
• The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, whilst being committed to the work      of a team
  
• Current drivers' license (C class) manual;
  
• Proven ability to handle a busy and diverse workload.
