Mechanical Fitter & Turner
Visy began manufacturing corrugated cardboard boxes in Melbourne in 1948 and has grown to become one of the world’s leading privately owned packaging, paper and recycling companies. It is through the success, dedication and innovation of Visy that has led to the construction of a new, state of the art, Visy Board plant in Truganina, Vic.
We are looking for Mechanical Fitter & Turner to maintain and repair plant equipment;

Visy is a leading, privately owned packaging and resource Recovery Company, with more than 120 sites across Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam and trading offices across Asia, Europe and the USA.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fitter & turner to join Visy Board, Truganina.
The main objective of the role is to maintain and repair plant equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations with a focus on upholding safety and maximising production in the Mechanical Operations of Visy Board Truganina manufacturing facility.
This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is a key member in the maintenance team.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Site HSE and Compliance
- Preventative Maintenance of all Plant and Equipment
- Maintain an effective preventative maintenance program for the plant and its equipment
- Ensure that budgeted machine downtime, productivity and waste targets are met consistently
- Service production and Resolve operational or technical equipment problems
- Maintain the mechanical maintenance store
- Work as a member of the maintenance team
To be considered for this role you will need to have the following capabilities;
- Mechanical Trade qualifications
- Background in Mechanical applications
- Manufacturing process experience
- Pneumatics systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Knowledge and experience in safety procedures
- Computer literacy
- Ability to read mechanical schematics/ drawings
- Basic oxy acetylene gas
- MIG/ TIG/ Stick Welding
- Basic machining skills
- Experience in high volume / fast paced customer service environment
- EWP Licence
- First aid
- Confined space training
- Forklift licence (desirable)
