We're currently seeking an experienced Controls Technician to join our highly motivated and successful Sales and Solutions team. The position is key to maintaining and repairing Tridium based chilled water plant control systems within a central plant environment, based around the SMARDT Chiller product line.

At the cutting edge of innovation, SMARDT Australia is accelerating product development efforts that deliver substantial energy savings for our customers, and the Controls Technician is integral to achieving this.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend control system breakdowns either onsite or remotely.
  • Carry out maintenance on control systems either onsite or remotely.
  • Carry out onsite commissioning to the design brief.
  • Assist in finalising the building of products such as control panels in the factory environment.
  • Assist with the programming of control systems using block logic and line code.
  • Travel to local, interstate and overseas sites as required (approximately 25% away interstate or overseas).
  • Liaise with onsite contractors, the SMARDT Project Manager and other staff as required.
  • Assist with the design and engineering of projects to meet specification within reasonable timeframes.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Trade certificate in Electro-technology or Air-conditioning and Refrigeration (advantageous).
  • Trade experience or experience in a similar role (minimum 3 years).
  • Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system automation experience highly (essential).
  • Strong skills in Tridium Niagara (N4), including but not limited to control logics, graphics, bql etc, BACnet and/or MODbus.
  • Very good written and verbal communication.

  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
