Fitter

We are seeking a self motivated individual with experience ideally in the food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical industry to join our maintenance team in the Operations Division.  This is a great opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Fitter who above all, values safety in the workplace, takes pride in their workmanship and is passionate about providing an exceptional level of service.

The principal purpose of the role will be to undertake equipment installations, modifications, carrying out preventative maintenance duties, responding to breakdowns of filling lines, packaging lines and tablet compression equipment, etc.  Duties also include general maintenance work on buildings and site equipment.  This role would suit a Trade Qualified Fitter experienced with the maintenance and repair of manufacturing production lines.  Experience in the fabrication and welding of light gauge stainless steel materials, tube and fittings, operation of lathes, mills and general workshop equipment is required.  This is a permanent full-time Monday to Friday day shift position for 38 hours per week based in Rutherford, in the Hunter Valley.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

• Fitter trade qualification.
• TIG welding experience with stainless steel light gauge material.
• Operation of lathes, mills and light fabrication equipment.
• 3 Years plus experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proactively troubleshoot and correct equipment breakdowns .
• Undertake equipment improvements and modifications as required.
• Conduct routine scheduled or planned maintenance in accordance with the preventative maintenance system.
• Carry out installation and modification work as required.
• Carry out repairs to on-site equipment, buildings, offices, air-conditioning systems, etc.
• To maintain good housekeeping practices in your work area and in the maintenance workshop.
• High level communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good computer literacy skills.
• Identifying, co-ordinating and implementing improvements to equipment and procedures, line operation and equipment WHS.
• Multi-tasking a variety of activities occurring at the same time in the job to ensure correct and smooth operation of maintenance activities.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety

The following is desirable but not essential:

• Exposure to air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Exposure to pneumatic & hydraulic systems.
• Exposure to GMP requirements. (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Current Forklift Licence.
• Current EWP Certificate.
• Current Working at Heights Certificate.
