About the role
- Planning sequence of production, assembly, processing, and other manufacturing operations
- Oversee the stock ordering and inventory process, ensuring minimum stock levels are maintained across key product lines and all special orders are closely monitored to ensure order delivery deadlines are met
- Assist with quoting, costing, project management and quality checking
- Manage 2 workshop employees, ensuring they have a constant stream of work that is being completed according to schedule
- Assist with the fabrication of various bespoke gas equipment solutions as specified by our engineer, sales team and customers
- Conferring with key stakeholders to determine the status of assigned projects
- Expediting operations that delay schedules and modifying schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
- Preparing production reports, including list of required materials, tools and equipment
- Preparing purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment

Skills and experience
- Be trade qualified as a fitter / welder or similar with minimum 5+ years' experience
- Have a trade background with gained experience in all aspects of the manufacturing environment
- Experienced in production planning, inventory and warehouse management
- Strong understanding of production goals, scheduling, tracking job efficiency and reporting
- Be hands on, while also leading and delegating to direct reports
- Be able to read and fabricate from engineering drawings
- Outstanding ability to communicate / use relevant management software
- A demonstrated history of quality workmanship, including bespoke engineering components
- Be compliant with company policies and promote a safe working environment
- Be able to work under pressures of a demanding environment and meet deadlines
- Have a current drivers licence
