About the business
We are seeking a qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Pilbara Isuzu Trucks/Pilbara Motor Group Newman. Please note this is a residential based position, FIFO is not on offer. Our state of the art dealership opened in May 2015.
About the role
You will be required to carry out a range of duties relating to the service of vehicles, including:
- Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles
- Perform a range of engine & mechanical tests, to diagnose, repair and service heavy duty vehicles (including Toyota and Isuzu)
- Taking all necessary steps to diagnose to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components
- Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission and the suspension systems
- Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment
- Ensuring the safe work practices of any Apprentice staff
- Take pride in workmanship & cleanliness
- Servicing and repair of light vehicles will also be required

Skills and experience
- Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic trade qualification essential
- Previous experience with Isuzu trucks would be highly advantageous
- Current HR drivers licence essential
- Previous experience using scan tools
- Must possess industry level certification to operate as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in relevant state
- Must have own hand tools
- Developed knowledge of the automotive industry
- Ability to work productively in an autonomous environment
- Highly motivated
- Technical Aptitude
