About the role
Due to the nature of the work at our Mt Thorley facility, we are looking for experienced Plant Mechanics to join our workshop crew on a casual basis. In this role it is anticipated that you will work approximately 6 weeks at a time, to a maximum of 3 months of the year. Confirmation of upcoming work will be provided several weeks in advance in order to secure your availability. Night and day shift positions available.
In this role you will join a large crew performing repairs, maintenance and inspections on a range of customer components. You will apply your technical skill and expertise to carry out these duties in a customer focused manner with a dedicated commitment to safety and quality assurance.
Our Plant Mechanics are recognised for their exact knowledge of CAT equipment – well trained, professional, and experts in their field. The best tooling is available, and you will work alongside some of the best trade’s professionals.
About you
Our successful candidates will have the following skills and experience:
- CERT III Heavy Vehicle / Mobile Plant Qualification OR Fitting/Machining Trade;
- Experienced in Caterpillar and Underground Longwall overhauls;
- Excellent diagnostic and repair skills;
- The ability to work overtime when required;
- Dedicated commitment to safety and quality assurance;
- Desirable: Forklift Licence, Working at Heights, Dogging, Overhead Crane.
