YHA is seeking a Part Time Maintenance to work across our 4 backpacker hostels in the Sydney CBD: Sydney Central YHA, Railway Square YHA, Sydney Harbour YHA, and Glebe Point YHA.
Duties include but are not limited to general building maintenance and general handyperson tasks such as painting, plastering and carpentry works.
The position is for a minimum 3 days a week but flexibility to work more days to cover leave/special projects is required.
Essential skills & experience:
- Highly reliable and self-motivated
- Able to maintain a high standard of work without supervision
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Able to use initiative and work autonomously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to product specifications
- Able to follow systems and processes, including paperwork
- Extensive handyperson-related qualifications and/or significant experience in maintenance in a variety of areas
- Appropriate trade qualifications are an advantage
- Highly developed interpersonal & communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A passion for the unique environment and culture of backpacker hostels
- Valid driver's licence
This is a permanent, long-term position. A valid driver's licence and unlimited working rights in Australia are necessary requirements for this role.
