About the business and the role
MOGAS is the leading provider of severe service metal-seated ball valves across the globe including in autoclave and refining applications
MOGAS Australia is seeking a field service technician for valve repair and support operations on one of our clients remote plant sites.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Customer liaison and reporting
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the valve repair activities on site
- Proactively participating in client and company activities
- Planning and reporting on valve performance, plant shutdowns, and valve repair activities
- Setting up, installing and removing pneumatic and hydraulic actuators onto each valve. Checking and adjusting controls
- Stripping, inspecting and preparing a report on the condition of each valve
- Coordinating and supervising the cleaning, blasting, machining and weld repair of each valve repair
- Assembling each valve and performing pressure testing and functional testing
Skills and experience
Candidates should have;
- Mechanical fitting experience including repairing and assembling valves and fitting and setup of actuators
- Machining experience on manual lathes and borers
- Fitter Machinist trade qualifications and experience
- Site and shutdown experience on remote mineral processing plant sites
- Appreciation, knowledge and commitment to industrial health and safety requirements
Previous experience with quarter turn ball valves will be highly regarded. In house training will be provided, with scope for training in valve service/manufacturing facilities in Perth and overseas.
Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.
Job benefits and perks
After an initial training period this position will be based on a remote international plant site on a 7 week on-site, 3 week at home FIFO roster, and return international flights to point of hire. Time off site will include travel, R&R, leave and company activities.
